Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management was incepted by the Bundelkhand
University in the year 1999 on perceiving the significance of professionally trained
people in the in the field of Tourism & Hospitality in the country and recognizing the
underlying opportunities for the young generation in the entrepreneurial, service,
academic and research sectors of this industry.   

The ITHM is credited to be one of the first academic centers in the country to offer full-
fledged study programme in both Tourism and Hotel Management. The institute has
provisions of requisite training areas including basic/ intermediate/quantity kitchens,
laundry, training restaurant student dining hall, guest rooms, cloak room, central
stores, front office, library, computer laboratory, travel desk, lecture theaters and
multiple classrooms. The institute has been recognized as a center of excellence. 

The curriculum has been developed in such a way that the students are groomed in
totality, in terms of theory and practice alongside communication skills, analytical
ability, leadership qualities and planning acumen etc.   Provision of intensive on-the-job
training, field interpretation, group discussion, seminars, surprise tests, dissertation and
field trip/ training/project reports have also been made. Resource persons from the
industry and academia are regularly invited for deliberations on applied themes of
Tourism & Hotel Management. Likewise, organization of inter-active events including
seminars, Symposia and workshops on Tourism and Hospitality Management is an
essential part of the academic schedule.
